A free eye camp in Palanigounden Palayam (This village comes under our adopted village Vaavipalayam,Coimbatore District) was conducted on 26th August-2001. We have done this with the association of Arvind Eye Hospital,Coimbatore and Lions Club of Malligai,Coimbatore. A total of 20+ small villages around Palanigounden Palayam were covered.

244 candidates have attended the camp, among them 44 candidates were selected for cataract operation to be done at the Arvind Hospital, Coimbatore, for free of cost. These 44 patients were brought to Arvind hospital on Aug 27th and the operation was done on the same day. 42 Patients have been discharged on August 30th. After discharging we dropped them at their respective homes by bus. The other two patients were discharged on September 8th. Spectacles were provided to 50+ candidates in low rates.

On May 1^st 2002 we have conducted our second eye camp at Mandiripalayam. 40 elders were selected for free cataract operation.
